Woodson students are high acheiving in everything they do, specifically acedemics. School has an amazing philosophy (i.e., seek holiness in the ordinary world). I have a 5th grader and Kindergartener at Kent Gardens and we have been very pleased with the school. A majority of the teachers are extremely kind and supporter, and are willing to go out their way to help you. There is a great sense of community throughout the school. Walking around the halls, you basically know everyone you see and the environment is so welcoming especially to new students. It makes everyone feel as if they are welcome and part of one big family, all working together to provide a bright future for their students! It also helps that Fairfax County doesn't have any schools that are 90% EFL or 98% reduced- or free-lunch, so the internal inequities are not nearly as bad as a system like LA Unified's. When I first enrolled into K12 International Academy, I was beyond overwhelmed by the amount of work, lack of direct teaching and by the online cirriculum. Cons are: high tuition; high faculty turnover; inconsistent math instructor quality; lacking in foreign language courses; ethnic diversity exists, but outside of the classroom a missing element of friendly inclusiveness exists; school isn't equipped for learning differences & falls short of Catholic school guidelines; much subrosa mean behavior among girls goes uncorrected (on and offline)(school doesn't monitor seemingly libelous harmful student social media use) & college counseling could be better for the price.Read 116 Reviews, Alum: My experience at Herndon was great!
